Cancel Alltel Contracts Without Early Termination Fee

Alltel is merging with Verizon and this will let Alltel subscribers get out of their contract.
Alltel users should have received a letter regarding this at the beginning of June. On the letter, it states that you can end the service without any early temination fee within 60 days of receiving the letter.

1. Call 1-800-ALLTEL1 and ask to get out of the contract
2. Mention the letter if you will be charged a fee for cancelling
3. AllTel may ask why

Hi, sorry…but I just looked at BOTH letters I’ve received from Alltel/Verizon and they actually say the exact opposite, that if I terminate my contract, I WILL be charged and early termination fee.
